India and Fiji Hold Discussion on Pharmacopoeial Cooperation
New Delhi, October 16, 2024: A bilateral meeting was held between officials from the Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC), and representatives from the Fiji Medicines Regulatory Authority, Ministry of Health, Republic of Fiji. The meeting aimed at discussing the recognition of the Indian Pharmacopoeia (IP) by Fiji and exploring opportunities for future cooperation.
The Indian side provided an overview of the IPC’s role in setting pharmaceutical standards and highlighted the recognition of the IP in different countries of Latin America, Africa, Asia and Pacific regions. Both sides discussed the benefits of IP recognition, including the availability of affordable drugs in Fiji, and addressed potential areas for collaboration, such as capacity-building and training programs.
The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to advancing pharmacopoeial cooperation and the establishment of ongoing dialogue on related matters.
