Indian Pharmacopoeia commission on 11th October 2013, Created a Toll Free number facility under Pharmacovigilance Programme of India, in order to collect the adverse drug reactions with the use of medicines and to ensure patient safety.

Launching the toll free number 1800 180 3024, Dr. Sten Olsson, Chief WHO Programme Officer, WHO-Uppsala Monitoring Centre, Sweden, launched this facility for the well being, safety and protect patient health. It is great step to reach every corner of the country to create nation-wide system for patient reporting.

Dr. G.N. Singh, DCG(I), said this step of Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission, will ensure well being of public and to protect patient safety. This facility will be easy for the health care professionals those who are working in tertiary health care system to report ADRs.

Dr. Sten Olsson mentioned that it’s a unique facility developed by IPC and it will help in a big way to report ADRs. He also appreciated the work done by Dr. Kalaiselvan and his team at NCC.
