The Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh organised the 6^th National Pharmacovigilance Week from 17^th - 23^rd September 2026 with the theme "Promoting Rational Use of Medicines through Pharmacovigilance: A Step Towards Safer Healthcare.

During this week, on 21^st September 2026, the Hon’ble Minister of State for Health & Family Welfare and Chemicals & Fertilizers, Smt. Anupriya Patel, released the ADR-PvPI 2.0 Mobile App for iOS users and Guidance Document for Hospitals in India for Safety Monitoring and Reporting of Medical Devices Related Incidents/Adverse Events at Dr. Ambedkar International Centre, New Delhi.

Features of ADR-PvPI 2.0 Mobile App for iOS users are:

• Modern, intuitive UI/UX for better navigation and engagement
• Bilingual – Hindi & English
• Includes drugs & vaccines, and medical devices Adverse Event Reporting
• Includes concomitant medication field and attachment upload (e.g., prescriptions, lab reports)
• Web-based dashboard with analytics, secure access, and data export capabilities

The features of Guidance Document for Hospitals in India for Safety Monitoring and Reporting of Medical Devices Related Incidents/Adverse Events are :

• This guidance will facilitate the stakeholders in hospitals for Safety Monitoring and Reporting of Medical Devices Related Incidents/Adverse Events in India.

The Hon’ble Minister Madam also announced about  the  Biovigilance Programme of India.
