The IPC Library & Information Centre provides the following services to support Scientific, Pharmacopoeial and Administrative work: -

1. Document Delivery Services:

The Library & Information Centre has been providing document to the staff members, external users in print form on demand or on request to the students, researchers from different universities and institutions.

 

2. Circulation Service:

Circulation services are to provide the lending of library materials during all hours of library operation. Library staff is available to answer questions and help them to locate books and other materials in the library.

 

3. Reference and Consultation Service:

The Library & Information Centre maintains a separate reference collection consisting of rare and costly reference books on various areas of sciences. The reference books are not issued as a general policy and are consulted within the library.

 

4. Electronic information resource access:

All the users can access web-based online information resources from the internet section of Library & Information Centre. The Library & Information Centre has its own internet search section. The section is equipped with 10 computers with printer and latest configuration. The Library & Information Centre also provides the facility of MEDLAR services.

 

5. CD-ROM Database search:

The Library & Information Centre provides the CD-ROM database search facility to their staff members and others.

 

6. CAS and SDI:

The Library & Information Centre provides the facility of selective dissemination of information (SDI) and Current Awareness services (CAS) to the staff members and outside visitor of library.

 

7. Indexing and Abstracting:

To fulfil the needs of user, Library & Information Centre provides Index and Abstracts of subscribed national and internationals journals.

 

8. News Paper Clipping:

The Library & Information Centre provides news paper clipping and other news items from Government, pharmaceutical industry and so on.

 

9. Reprographic Services:

The Library & Information Centre also provides the photocopy service to its users. The Library & Information Centre has its own reprographic section.

 

10. OPAC:

The Library & Information Centre has fully computerized its most actively used collection, which is now available to users through OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) with network access across the Library-wide LAN.
